Work roles come in all shapes and sizes. As a specialist in providing technical skills to leading organizations across the globe, Easy Skill is proud to be creating opportunities for consultants, companies and our team. Today we are thrilled to shine a spotlight on Fabien one of our Mining Geologist Consultants, who embarked on his journey with Easy Skill one year ago.

“For me, one of the best reasons to join the Easy Skill team in New Caledonia was the opportunity to gain broader experience with access to global roles,” shared Fabien. His passion for nature, science and international travel are the perfect recipe for success in his chosen field. As a Permitting Engineer, his objectives are to obtain necessary permissions to further develop mining sites.

His role includes a considerable amount of stakeholder management and administration, as well as many site visits at the actual mining sites. Fabien enjoys the interpersonal relationships and team meetings where he gains valuable global information and technical data. He attended three mine sites: Opoué, Tiebaghi and Stamboul and gained a better understanding of the realities of the actual mine sites.

“One of the most exciting parts of my role is the opportunity to discover new mining sites. I feel incredibly lucky to be learning new things every day,” Fabien shared with us. By a landslide, the best part of his job is when his patience and resilience finally pay off and he obtains all the required authorizations to start a new project. Hard work is the key to success.

Moving across the world, wasn’t a big deal. After spending one year in Australia and gaining international experience in Mongolia, Fabien had already become flexible and adaptable. Fabien appreciated the assistance provided upon his arrival and help to get settled, which he believes was crucial for a good start. A successful onboarding at work on Day 1 starts with a reassuring arrival.

Fabien continues to enjoy his role in New Caledonia and is already thinking of the future. “The experience with Easy Skill has instilled a new level of determination and resilience. I’m now more focused and driven than ever before. I don’t give up easily,” expressed Fabien. When we asked him about his thoughts on returning to France, he exclaimed, “I’m living my best life abroad!”.
