Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a Work Permit AND a Visa?
Yes. Foreign nationals who want to work in PNG need two separate authorizations: a Work Permit (issued by the Work Permit Branch) and a Working Resident / Employment Visa (issued by the Visa Branch). Easy Skill lodges both simultaneously.
How long does the Work Permit process take?
Standard processing takes approximately 3 months. Accelerated processing is available in approximately 3–4 weeks, subject to government availability. Business Visas and REVs take approximately 10 working days.
Does my company need a PNG entity to sponsor a visa?
No. Easy Skill can act as your local sponsor through the ICSA Sponsor Portal or serve as your Employer of Record (EoR) in PNG. You do not need to set up a local entity.
What currency are the prices in?
All prices on this page are in Papua New Guinean Kina (PGK). Payment is processed securely via Stripe Australia in PGK. Your bank will handle any currency conversion at current market rates.
What is the 10% GST on service fees?
PNG Goods and Services Tax (10%) applies only to Easy Skill's service fees. Government application fees are GST-exempt. The GST amount is shown on each pricing card for full transparency.
What happens after I pay online?
Within 24 hours of payment, you receive a personalized document checklist specific to your visa type. Once you submit the required documents, our migration team in Port Moresby prepares and lodges your application. You receive status updates at every milestone.
Can I extend or renew my Work Permit?
Yes. Renewal must be initiated before your current permit expires. Government renewal fees are higher than new application fees. We recommend starting the renewal process at least 4 months before expiry.
